Publications

NABA publishes two quarterly magazines for members, American Butterflies and Butterfly Gardener. Both journals are rich with useful information about butterflies and their habitats, and what butterfly enthusiasts can do to help protect butterflies and restore and expand butterfly habitat.

Additionally, NABA publishes the Annual Counts Report, a compilation of butterfly sightings from the hundreds of volunteer-led counts organized each year. And the NABA Names Committee of top butterfly taxonomists updates and publishes the Checklist of North American Butterflies.

American Butterflies

American Butterflies is 48 pages of vibrant butterfly photos with articles on butterfly “hot spots”, identification, gardening, photography, book reviews, and regular features and columns. Published quarterly the magazine is a benefit of membership.

Butterfly Gardener

Butterfly Gardener features content spotlighting various aspects of establishing and maintaining a butterfly garden. Published quarterly, the magazine is a benefit of membership. Mary Anne Borge is the editor. She can be reached at [email protected].
