Regional Garden Guides

Choosing the correct plants for your particular location is the first step to start creating a successful butterfly garden. The lists of plants provided in NABA’s Regional Butterfly Garden Guides have been selected by experienced butterfly gardeners who live and garden in each particular location. Choose a blue or yellow dot on the map above to find lists of plants tailored for each location.

For many years, NABA has offered a set of butterfly garden planting guides written specifically for various regions of the United States. These regional guides may be accessed by clicking on the yellow buttons on the map.

NABA is in the process of updating these guides and converting them to regional butterfly gardening guides that will emphasize the use of regionally native butterfly garden plants. The new, updated butterfly gardening guides are posted on the map, noted with a blue button, as they become available.
